About the event
We will be paying homage to the rich Gullah heritage of Daufuskie Island without the cost of having to cross the water. We will share stories, music, food and fun for the kids as we share this magnificent history in one of America's most historic places. Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park is the birthplace of African American freedom, and was the first town of freedmen in the United States.
